HONOLULU — Hawaiʻi Pacific men's basketball has announced the additions of Nate Orr, Chase Brooks, and Xander Aquino, completing the Sharks' 2026-27 recruiting class.

Head coach Jesse Nakanishi and the Sharks welcome three guards who each bring unique experiences and backgrounds to the program. Orr joins HPU after competing at the collegiate level, Brooks arrives following a successful high school career in Texas, and Aquino returns home to Hawaiʻi to begin his collegiate career.

Orr, a 6-foot-3 guard from Niles, Michigan, transfers to Hawaiʻi Pacific from the University of Indianapolis. His combination of size, versatility, and experience adds depth to the Sharks' backcourt as the program continues preparing for the upcoming season.

"Nate's best basketball is ahead of him and his elite work ethic will shine here at HPU," said Head Coach Jesse Nakanishi.

Brooks, a 6-foot-1 guard from Prosper, Texas, joins the Sharks after graduating from Walnut Grove High School. He enters the program as a young player with the opportunity to continue developing while learning within HPU's team-first culture.

"We're excited for Chase's development in our program!" said Nakanishi.

Aquino, a 6-foot-1 guard from Nuʻuanu, Hawaiʻi and former
Kamehameha Kapālama graduate, will return to his home state after time spent at Yavapai College. His addition gives the Sharks another local student-athlete who understands the significance of representing Hawaiʻi while beginning his collegiate career close to home.

"We're excited to have Xander back home to Hawaiʻi to kickstart his collegiate career," said Nakanishi.

The additions of Orr, Brooks, and Aquino round out Hawaiʻi Pacific's 2026-27 recruiting class as the Sharks continue preparing for the upcoming season. Together with the program's earlier signees, the group provides a balanced mix of collegiate experience, youth, and local talent.

Following an NCAA Division II Tournament appearance last season, Hawaiʻi Pacific will continue building its foundation with a roster focused on growth, competition, and daily improvement as the Sharks prepare for the 2026-27 campaign.
