HONOLULU – Hawaiʻi Pacific University Director of Athletics Debbie Snell has announced the hiring of Kanda Korver as the inaugural head coach of the Sharks' flag football program.
Korver joins HPU with a diverse background in coaching, leadership development, and program management. She currently serves as an assistant coach for the varsity girls flag football program at Kamehameha Schools Kapālama while also coaching intermediate girls soccer.
In addition to her coaching experience, Korver founded Kore Vibration, an organization focused on athlete development through mindset training, team workshops, mentorship, and leadership programming. Through the organization, she has worked with more than 1,500 athletes, parents, and coaches across Hawaiʻi and the mainland.
Korver also brings extensive leadership experience from the professional sector, having previously served as a Senior Program Manager in Global Recruiting Operations at Meta. She currently serves as Director of Operations for Keiki Coders, an after-school STEM and athlete-focused enrichment program.
A graduate of Occidental College, Korver earned a bachelor's degree in Economics and Spanish with a minor in Mathematics. She was a captain of the Tigers' volleyball team and earned SCIAC All-Academic honors during her collegiate career. She also completed a Data Analytics Certificate through the University of California, Berkeley Extension.
As the inaugural head coach, Korver will oversee the launch of HPU's flag football program, including recruiting, player development, and preparation for the Sharks' first season of competition.
