Andrew Jones

Andrew Jones begins his third year as an assistant coach for the Sharks.
 
He is responsible for skill development over the course of the season, with a main focus on strength and conditioning, scouting reports, recruiting, assisting and coordinating camps, logistical planning for road trips and special occasions, and a number of community service opportunities in Hawai‘i.
 
Born in Boston, Jones has experienced a broad array of culture living in Texas, southern California, Tokyo, Santa Cruz, and Honolulu that he brings to the HPU program.
 
A four-year player at UC Santa Cruz, Jones was named to the Association of Division III Independents second team his senior season, averaging 9.4 points and shooting 42.3 percent from the floor and 40.7 percent from the 3-point arc on a 17-8 team.
 
During the off-season prior to coaching at HPU, Jones was a part of the coaching staff at Phenom 150 National Nike Camp. He also has coached his own AAU teams and each summer he travels from Tokyo to Anaheim, Calif. for a week long tournament.
 
Jones has a bachelor of arts in film and digital media from UC Santa Cruz and has a master’s degree in elementary education from HPU.
