Tyler Harris begins his seventh season with the HPU basketball program, his second as a graduate assistant for the Sharks.
He works with the post players at HPU and is responsible for multiple organizational duties with the program. His day-to-day operations for the Sharks include recruiting, equipment, transportation and lodging, video exchange, while also assisting and coordinating camps, and various community service opportunities throughout Hawai‘i.
A vital staff member of the program and now coach, Harris has helped the program qualify for postseason action in each of his previous five seasons. He also traveled with the team to Korea in 2016 to capture the Asia-Pacific University Basketball Challenge championship. Coach Harris has been involved in youth instructional basketball camps in Hawaii and several cities in China.
A 2017 graduate of HPU in business finance, the Elizabethtown, Ky., native is currently working toward an MBA.
