Hawaii Pacific University Athletics

Drake Hanley joins the Sharks from Notre Dame Preparatory in Scottsdale, Arizona. The Nursing major brings a strong multi-sport background to Hawai?i Pacific as he begins his collegiate cross country career.

Hanley competed in cross country, track & field, and swimming during high school under coaches Nash and Katrina Spratford. He was recognized as the 2023-24 Most Improved Track & Field athlete and earned four-year letterman honors in track & field, reflecting his dedication and growth throughout his prep career.

Hanley chose HPU for its highly regarded nursing program and the opportunity to continue competing in cross country while living in Hawai?i. Outside of running, he enjoys playing guitar, working out, and taking on challenging hikes. Looking ahead, he hopes to build a career in nursing, continue his education in medicine, or eventually own a business in the medical field while staying active in the running community.
