Prior to HPU: Graduated from Kamehameha Schools-Kapalama in Honolulu, Hawaii…there she was a four year varsity lettermen in varsity softball, as middle infielder, under Coach Ty Sing Chow and Coach Randy Tamura…2009 and 2008 All-State and ILH Softball Teams, 2007 All-State and ILH Honorable Mention Softball Teams…Mel was also a four years cross country letterman under Coach Dave Friedmann.

2013: Begins fourth season.
2012: Played in 36 games, started in 29…hit .148 with seven runs, two doubles, and seven RBI, and seven walks.
2011: Selected to the All-PacWest Second Team as the Flex Player...Played and started in all 50 games...hit .191 with nine runs, two doubles, a triple and six RBI.
2010: Played in 30 games, started in five...posted nine hits and one double...recorded eight runs and seven RBI.
