Hawaii Pacific University Athletics

Caelan De Vera is a distance runner from Pinole, California. She graduated from Pinole Valley High School, where she competed in cross country and basketball. During her prep career, she earned Second Team All-League honors in both cross country and basketball while competing under head coach Jerrod Nodar.

Before joining HPU, De Vera attended San José State University and City College of San Francisco, where she played basketball as a point guard. She earned Second Team All-Conference honors while competing under head coach Derek Lau.

De Vera enjoys reading, hiking, running, and working out. Her favorite foods include Filipino food, poke, pasta, and ramen. She enjoys the movies Michael, Lilo & Stitch, and A Walk to Remember, and listens to Rod Wave, J Boog, and Jhené Aiko. Giannis Antetokounmpo is her favorite athlete. In 10 years, she hopes to be working as a nurse. De Vera chose HPU because it gave her the opportunity to return to Hawai?i, pursue a nursing degree, and continue competing in collegiate cross country.
