Connor Artigue

Originally from California, Artigue returns to Oahu after serving as the assistant coach for the HPU men’s soccer team from 2020-2023. In that span, the Sharks were crowned 2020 Hawaii Pod Champions, followed by a top-4 finish in the PacWest with an impressive 6-2-2 record in conference play.

Former Sharks captain and perennial All-PacWest Conference Selection, Gerrit Arzberger, had this say about their time together, “Coach Connor is an exceptional leader who brings a meticulous, detail-oriented approach to his coaching. His primary focus is always on player development, ensuring that every athlete improves daily while laying a strong foundation for long-term success. He is highly professional, approachable, and deeply invested in fostering meaningful relationships with his players, striking the perfect balance between being supportive and maintaining the authority necessary to lead a team effectively”.

In addition to his work at HPU, Artigue worked diligently in the Hawaii soccer community for over a decade. In 2014, he founded an after-school youth soccer program that partnered with over 50 schools and public parks to serve 2,500+ students a year. For the last 2 years, Artigue has been gaining invaluable experience coaching in San Diego, CA. Leading two teams that compete in the MLS NEXT, he has battled weekly at the highest level of youth soccer in the country while continuing to develop elite talent. In just two years, his teams have promoted a remarkable twelve players into professional academies in the US, Mexico, and abroad.

In 2024, Artigue made his professional coaching debut in the US Open Cup, where he served as the assistant coach for Redlands FC. Competing in the USL2, Artigue was in charge of match analysis and opponent scouting for the club.

Artigue graduated with a bachelor’s degree from UCSB and recently earned his US Soccer Coaching B-License. He currently resides in Kaimuki with his wife Jessica, who is a talented baker and pastry chef, plus their two dogs Bella and Dexter. When his not on the soccer pitch, you can find him competing in any number of his hobbies and athletic endeavors including golf, pickle ball, basketball, and of course, surfing.

"I've been lucky to call Hawai'i ‘home' before, and I am thrilled to return to this special island and soccer community. It is an absolute honor and privilege to be named head coach at HPU”, says Artigue. “I look forward to representing the university and building a positive winning culture. There will be a clear identity to our team that will fight, compete, and succeed on and off the field. I can’t wait to get started. Go Sharks!”
