Gretchen Berkey is in on her first year as an Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach at HPU.
The former Shark letterwinner most recently served as a girls‘ junior varsity assistant coach at Punahou School. She also coached at the FC Barcelona Soccer Academy Camps in Hawai‘i.
From 2016-2020, Berkey was a goalkeeper and midfielder for the Sharks. She has been a student oft he game for 19 years, and adds 10 years of coaching both soccer and tennis at the youth level.
Berkey is a 2020 graduate of HPU with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and looks forward to a career off the pitch in the field of sports psychology.
Originally from Pasadena, Calif., Berkey moved to southern Oregon and graduated from Grants Pass High School. She has lived on the windward side of Oahu for five years.
