Sugai enters her 11th season with the Sharks. Her main duties are on field coaching during practice and games and fitness/strength coach.  

She has a plethora of coaching experience in the islands. She served as the assistant coach for five years with the Aiea High School Girls Soccer Team, where she also played her high school ball. She currently also volunteers her services to her former soccer club, Leahi Soccer Club.

As a player, Sugai was a four-year starter for the University of Hawai‘i (2001-2004). She holds the school record for the most consecutive starts (81) and most consecutive games played (81). As an outside midfielder, Sugai earned Second-Team All-WAC honors during her junior year. As a senior, she earned First-Team conference honors and was selected to the 2004 All-WAC Tournament Team. She was also a co-captain from 2002-2004.

Sugai, an All-WAC academic selection, graduated from UH in 2005 with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration-Marketing. Sugai is also a licensed massage therapist, specializing in Shiatsu.
