Women’s Soccer Falls To NDNU

Kaneohe, HI (10/20/10) – At Atherton Field, the HPU women's soccer team was defeated by Notre Dame de Namur, 2-1. The Lady Sea Warriors fall to 4-8 overall and 4-4 in the PacWest, while the Argos improve to 5-4-2 overall and 3-4-2 in conference.

Sarah Biser opened the scoring for NDNU with her goal in the 13th minute. She shot a ball from the left side of the penalty area that beat HPU keeper Carianne Makino to the near post.

Sanoe Souza evened the match midway through the second half, scoring on a rebound off NDNU keeper Kelsey Baxter. In the 84th minute, Alexis Tershay scored the gamewinner for the Argos. She beat her defender on the right flank, dribbled into the HPU penalty area, and scored past Makino.

Makino posted two saves on the afternoon with Baxter recording 11 saves.

The match was broadcasted live on KWHE-TV 14 and streamed on America One.

The Sea Warriors retake the field on Saturday, October 23, versus Dominican University. Start time at Atherton Field is set for 3:00 p.m.
