Honolulu, HI (10/27/10) – At Saint Andrew's Priory, the HPU women's volleyball team defeated Dominican University, 3-0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-16). HPU improves to 14-4 overall and 8-3 in the PacWest while the Lady Penguins drop to 3-21 overall and 0-12 in conference.
Courtney Curran and Kelly Balanay recorded 11 and 10 kills, respectively, to lead HPU. Kyra Pelayo posted 21 digs with Balanay adding five blocks.
Cayla Morphew led the Lady Penguins with six kills.
The Sea Warriors were challenged only in the second game when Dominican cut into a late nine-point lead. Pihana Kea and Perry Bradley had 25 and 13 assists, respectively, for HPU.
The Sea Warriors next take on Notre Dame de Namur this Friday, October 29. First serve at Saint Andrew's Priory is set for 7:00 p.m. and will be broadcasted live on KWHE-TV 14 and streamed on the B2 Networks at www.b2tv.com.
