Men’s Basketball Topped By Alaska-Anchorage

Fairbanks, AK (12/3/10) – Adrian den Dulk and Kameron Steinhoff each scored 10 points, but it was not enough as the HPU men's basketball team fell to Alaska-Anchorage, 75-53. The game was HPU's opener at the Glacier Classic, as the Sea Warriors fell to 3-2 while UAA improved to 4-3.

The Sea Warriors were hampered by a slow start, as the Seawolves scored the first eight points of the game and led 32-18 at halftime.

In the second half, HPU nearly doubled its first-half point total but it was not enough. The Anchorage lead swelled to as much as 30 points (69-39) before UAA won by 22.

Taylor Rohde led all scorers with 22 points on 10-12 shooting. Keenan Prince recorded nine points for HPU, with Jason Jackson adding eight points off the bench in his return from a leg injury.

HPU plays tomorrow, December 4, against host Alaska-Fairbanks. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. Pacific Time.
