Kaneohe, HI (October 29, 2011) – The Hawai'i Pacific women's soccer team beat Chaminade 3-0 on senior day. Seniors
Shelby Moriguchi and
Yasmina Taketa both scored goals in their final home games as Sea Warriors.
HPU took a 1-0 lead into the half after Moriguchi scored off an assist from
Sanoe Souza at the 23:22 mark. Less than five minutes into the second half,
Andrea Aguirre scored her sixth goal of the season to make it 2-0.
KaUa Wall picked up her second assist of the year on the play. Taketa rounded out the scoring in the 57th minute with an unassisted goal.
HPU dictated the tempo the entire match, with most of the game play taking place on Chaminade's side of the field. HPU outshot the 'Swords 26-6 and won the corner kick battle 5-1.
Senior
Carianne Makino had five saves in goal in the HPU win. Taketa and Aguirre each fired four shots as Wall and
Katrina Torres had three each.

HPU is now 9-5-2 overall and 6-3-2 in conference play. Chaminade falls to 1-15 and 1-10.
The Sea Warriors will close the regular season at BYU-H on Wednesday at 12:30 P.M.
