Volleyball Battles for Road Win

Honolulu, HI (October 5, 2011) – The Hawai'i Pacific volleyball team won 3-1 (26-24, 25-21, 19-25, 25-13) over cross-town rival Chaminade at McCabe Gym. HPU got big days from seniors Natasha Bell and Courtney Curran who combined for 24 kills.

The first set was hotly contested; the largest difference at any point was four. With the match tied at 24, kills by Natasha Bell and Allison Bonk gave HPU the win. HPU jumped in front early in the second set 10-3, but the Silverswords would hang around. HPU led 23-21, then a kill by Bell and a service error ended it. Chaminade took the third set after leading the majority of the set. HPU left no doubt in the fourth set, HPU ran out to a 13-3 lead and never looked back.
