Box Score Saint George, UT (January 21, 2012) – The Hawai'i Pacific men's basketball team was beaten 39-27 in the rebounding battle, leading to a 84-68 loss to Dixie State College. HPU is now 7-8 overall and 2-5 in PacWest play.

Jelany White three point hit gave HPU a 15-13 lead with 9:31 left in the opening half. It was the last lead HPU would hold. The first half would remain close, with the Red Storm leading 35-31 after 20 minutes of play. A 9-0 Dixie State run to open the second half gave the home team a 13 point cushion. HPU trimmed the lead to seven on a
LaBrent Chappell lay in with 2:11 to play, but HPU would draw no closer.
Chappell led the way with 16 points and three assists. Fran Uril was steady in the post with nine points and six rebounds. Reserve
Kawika Lyons made the most out of his eight minutes of playing time with six points, three assists and two rebounds.
Dixie State is now 11-4 overall and 6-1 in conference play. Maurice Cole led the way with 24 points.
