Personal: Born in Los Angeles, California…parents are Anthony and Brenda…has one brother; Kahri (14)…Jelany’s hobbies include listening to music and working out…favorite foods are red beans and rice…favorite movies are Friday, Training Day, and Kings of Comedy…favorite music artists are Jay-Z, Nipsey Hussle, J-Cole, and Curren$y…Jelany chose HPU because of the location and its academic prestige…in 10 years he would like to be representing top, up and coming, athletes on the west coast…he is currently majoring in General Business.

Prior to HPU: Graduated from Crenshaw High School in Los Angeles, California…there he played basketball, as guard, under Coach Ed Waters…he was honored was a McDonald’s All-American Nominee…he also attended Chadron State College in Chadron, Nebraska…there he played basketball under Coach Brent Bargan.

HPU: 2012-2013: Begins third season. 2011-2012: Played in 25 games…averaged 4.2 points per game with a total of 104 points…added 18 three-pointers, 45 assists, and 43 turnovers…shot .643 from the free throw range and .382 from the field goal…scored a game high 13 points against Western New Mexico and had a game high of 6 assists against California Baptist. 2010-2011: Played in all 28 games (started in 15)…averaged 2.7 points per game with a total of 75 points…added 38 assists and 6 three-pointers…shot .731 from the free throw range…scored a game high of seven assists against Dominican (CA).
