Honolulu, HI (October 17, 2012) – The Hawai'i Pacific (5-7-1, 4-4-1) women's soccer team received goals from six different players, en-route to a 6-1 victory against cross-town rival Chaminade (0-12, 0-10).
Andrea Aguirre led the way with four shots on goal and a score for the Sea Warriors.
Chaminade kicked the scoring off in the fourth minute when Twyla Hamasaki beat Sea Warrior keeper
Kiana Kaiwi giving the 'Swords a 1-0 lead. HPU would find the equalizer just seven minutes later when Aguirre drilled the back of the net on an unassisted goal. HPU would score three more times in the first period on goals from
Meghan Fuller in the 18th minute,
KaUa Wall in the 21st and
Breanna Gaddis in the 34th. HPU would go to the break leading 4-1.
The route would continue in the second half as HPU would add two more insurance goals. The first came in the 74th minute from
Sanoe Souza while the second came in the 85th from
Mairead Bretney, closing a string of six unanswered goals for the Sea Warriors. HPU led the in the shots column 22-5 at the final buzzer.

“We were focused on being dangerous going forward today and that is just what we did. I was happy with how creative we were in the attack. We had a lot of players get a goal or assist so it felt good to execute to our chances,” said head coach
Gina Brewer.
HPU returns to the field on October 20th to square off with BYU-Hawaii at Atherton Field; game time is scheduled for 3 PM.
