Kaneohe, HI (November 3, 2012)- The Hawai'i Pacific (7-8-3, 6-5-3) women's soccer team defeated Holy Names University (1-16-1, 0-13-1) by the score of 4-1.
Andrea Aguirre scored two goals and senior
Sanoe Souza added a goal and an assist as the Sea Warriors closed out the season over .500 in PacWest play.
It would be the Hawks who would strike first when Sea Warrior keeper
Kelby Boswell could not stop a high shot in the 29th minute, putting HNU up 1-0. The Sea Warriors answered just before the break however when
Breanna Gaddis found the back of the net off a free kick from Souza in the 43rd minute. The two teams would head to the break with the score tied at one goal apiece.
The second half would be all Sea Warriors. Souza scored the go ahead goal in the 58 minute from just outside the 18 giving HPU a lead it would never relinquish. Aguirre would add goals in the 62nd and 85th extending the Sea Warrior lead out to 4-1.
With HPU up 4-1 the officials called the match due to darkness.
This match closes out the season for the women's soccer team.
