Early Goals Hurt Women's Soccer

Box Score RIVERSIDE, CA (October 3, 2013)— Hindered by a slow start, the Hawai`i Pacific Women's Soccer Team (2-6, 0-3) dropped game three of its mainland road trip to California Baptist 3-0 (6-4, 5-1).

The Lancers came out of the gate hot, scoring three goals in the first 18 minutes to put HPU in an early hole.

Sea Warrior goalkeeper Anu Kahele-Manners would make a pair of saves to close out the half, but the HPU offense struggled to get going and trailed 3-0 at the break.

Kahele-Manners stopped four more balls in the second half, but CBU would add an insurance goal in the 70th minute to win the game 4-0.

Kahele-Manners finished the game with five saves for HPU.

Ashlyn Ubongen and Sky Nanoo paced the Sea Warriors offensively with one shot a piece. Ubongen's shot was on goal.

HPU returns to action on October 5th to face Point Loma Nazarene in San Diego. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. PST.
