WAIPAHU, HI (March 21, 2013) - The Hawai'i Pacific Men's Tennis Team picked up its second victory in as many days, defeating Whitman College 9-0. The win moves the Sea Warriors to 11-2 on the season while Whitman falls to 9-6.
The Sea Warriors got off to a good start after sweeping doubles play, winning first and second doubles 8-4, and 8-3 at third doubles.
Up 3-0, HPU was able to rest its usual first singles player
Petr Michnev.
Jaume Martinez-Vich stepped up to first singles and defeated the tenth ranked player in Division III in straight sets, 6-2, 6-0. With Michnev out,
Yann Renault stepped into the sixth singles spot and won his match 6-1, 6-0.
The Sea Warriors return to Central Oahu Regional Park on March 26
th to face Grossmont College in a pair of matches beginning at 10:00 AM.
