Box Score MANOA, HI (September 23, 2013)—The Hawai'i Pacific Women's Soccer Team (2-3) dropped its final non-conference game of the year on Wednesday, losing 1-0 to University of Hawai'i, in Manoa.
Anu Kahele-Manners stopped seven shots in net for the Sea Warriors.

This season Hawai'i has faced, and defeated, teams like Oregon and Oregon State, but for 83 minutes the Sea Warriors played even on the scoreboard.

While UH held the 12-1 shot advantage, both sides had its chances at goal in the first half. In the 28th minute the Sea Warriors narrowly missed taking the lead, when senior
Andrea Aguirre sent a free kick just over the crossbar. Kahele-Manners was strong in net making several big saves for Hawaii Pacific while UH made a strong push late in the half.

With the score still tied 0-0, the Sea Warriors kept their tight defensive posture in the second half with Kahele-Manners making big stops on shots that happened to penetrate the HPU defense.

The Sea Warriors' best chance of the second half came in the 82nd minute when
Vanna Hatchie broke loose from the Hawai'i defense and sent a shot over the bar. Just one minute later, UH would finally break find a crack in the HPU defense and beat Kahele-Manners with a left footed shot just inside the right post.

Hatchie again had another shot in the 87th minute, but was denied, as Hawai'i took the game 1-0.

The Sea Warriors now head to the mainland for a four game road trip to kick off PacWest play, beginning in St. George, Utah against Dixie State. Kick off is scheduled for Saturday September 28
th at 4:30 p.m. MST.
