Box Score BELMONT, CA (September 27, 2014) – The Hawai'i Pacific Women's Soccer Team (4-2-1, 1-1) ended its road trip with a 2-1 win against Notre Dame de Namur University (2-5, 1-0) on Saturday.
After losing the first PacWest game of the season on Thursday, the Sharks came back aggressive against the Argonauts and were able to convert their chances this time.
Both teams started active in the first period. Already in the fourth minute,
Breanna Gaddis took a powerful header off the post.
After a pass into the box from
Lexi Cameau, it was
Erika Ellis who grabbed the lead for the Sharks with a good shot over the goalie in the 22nd minute.
Just two minutes later (25'),
Ashlyn Ubongen converted a penalty kick, resulting in the 2-0 lead for the Sharks. Ellis and Ubongen are now sharing the lead on the PacWest Scorerboard with four goals each.
The Argonauts struck back with a header goal after a long cross in the 31st minute.
After the changeover, both teams continued to play active. Cameau (58') and
Stefanie Catone (64') presented good shots but were not able to extend the lead for HPU.
The statistics present an advantage in shots (17-10) and shots on goal (10-4) for the Argonauts. Keeper
Kelby Boswell was tremendous, contributing a remarkable nine saves to her team's victory.
"It feels good to get a win on the road.

The Sharks will now travel back to Hawai'i to play their next game on Saturday, October 4th, against Azusa Pacific University at Atherton Field at 3:00 pm.
