Box Score KANEOHE, HAWAII (September 26, 2015)—The Hawaii Pacific women's soccer team fell to Academy of Art (Calif.) University 1-0 in an early afternoon PacWest Conference season-opening clash at a muddy Atherton Field.
 
The Sharks (3-3, 0-1 PacWest) out-shot their opponents 20-4, but the Urban Knights (2-4, 1-0) leaned on goalkeeper Morgan Wirz who racked up nine saves and helped ART U keep the clean sheet.
 
Aliya Salas put the Urban Knights ahead for good with a goal in the 51^st minute on a rebound in the six-yard box.
 
HPU's Erika Ellis provided the Sharks with a multitude of scoring opportunities via nine shots, three of which were on goal, but the sloppy conditions made connecting on a true strike very difficult.
 
HPU returns to the pitch on Monday, Sept. 28 at 12:30 p.m. at Atherton Field to face Notre Dame De Namur University in a PacWest Conference contest.
