Box Score HONOLULU (January 21, 2016) – After erasing a 12-point second-half deficit, the Hawaii Pacific men's basketball team held on to upset 15
th-ranked California Baptist University 87-82 in a crucial PacWest Conference matchup at Blaisdell Arena.
The victory marked the eighth consecutive win for the Sharks who also won their eighth game in nine tries at home thus far.
The Sharks (12-4 overall, 7-2 PacWest) received 22 points apiece from seniors
Chauncey Orr and
Luke Hager, the latter of whom also pulled down eight rebounds. Both players stepped up late as, with exactly 10 minutes to play, the home team started chipping away at the deficit before tying the score at 78 with 3 minutes and 20 seconds left in the game. Despite missing 11 free throws on the evening, HPU made enough shots from the charity stripe down the stretch to secure the victory.
Guards
Colfax Nordquist and
Jordan Martin notched 13 and 12 points, while
Rema Lascelles dished out four assists.
Senior forward
Joel Feigler scored five points, pulled down five rebounds and blocked three shots—his 23
rd rejection in the last eight games. The Las Vegas native and Central Arkansas transfer is averaging close to 13 points, five rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game this season.

Elliott DeFreitas continued to play a larger role on both ends of the floor and tallied eight points.
Hager paced the Sharks in the first half with nine points and five rebounds as the home team trailed 39-35 at intermission.
The Lancers (15-4, 6-3) received 18 points from Taj Spencer and 17 from Jordan Giusti.
