Box Score HONOLULU (February 25, 2016) – After riding a 14-2 run to end the first half, the Hawaii Pacific men's basketball team routed Point Loma, 81-58, in a PacWest Conference matchup at Moanalua High School.
With the win, HPU coach
Darren Vorderbruegge notched his 100
th victory across eight seasons of guiding the then-Sea Warriors and current shiver of Sharks.
The Sharks (18-8 overall, 13-6 PacWest) received a balanced scoring attack from
Colfax Nordquist (16 points, 4 steals),
Connor Looney (15 points, 6 steals, 3 treys),
Luke Hager (13 points) and
Joel Feigler (10 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists).
Elliott DeFreitas also turned in a solid effort with 6 rebounds, 2 blocks and 5 points.
The Sea Lions (13-13, 8-11) received a game-high 17 points from Tanner Lancona.
Feigler, a Las Vegas native and Central Arkansas transfer, is averaging 11 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game this season.
The Sharks have already clinched a berth in the PacWest's six-team postseason tournament, but are now fighting for a favorable seed. The tourney runs March 3-5 in Irvine, Calif., and tickets are currently available at www.ThePacWest.com.
