KEAAU, Hawai'i – Hawai'i Pacific University scored twice in the final nine minutes to down Hawai'i Hilo 2-0 in PacWest Conference action Saturday afternoon at Kamehameah Schools Paiea Stadium.
The Sharks (5-7, 3-4) defeated the Vulcans (3-9, 2-5) for the second time this season, but the first time in conference play.
HPU pounded UHH with 16 shots, while the Vulcans recorded seven shots against the Sharks.
Redshirt freshman goalkeeper
Max Austli of Gothenburg, Sweden recorded five saves and collected his second shutout in four games.
UH Hilo goalkeeper Nick Williams chalked up seven saves against 12 shots before he left the match in the 64th minute after a collision with junior
Christian Porras of Rockville, Md./Rockville. Substitute keeper Selvin Sandoval faced four shots with no saves and two goals allowed.

HPU sealed the game in the 90th minute when junior
Teppei Negami of Tokyo, Japan/Tow Gakuen dribbled in from the left side past Sandoval for the wide open goal.
The victory is a score for the Sharks in the PacWest Hawai'i Challenge between HPU, UH Hilo and Chaminade, and is the first of a four-game road trip.
The Sharks are back in action on Thursday when they face Holy Names. The contest at Cal State East Bay's Pioneer Stadium in Hayward, Calif., is set for 1:30 p.m. HST (4:30 p.m. PDT).
