The teams battled through 11 ties and three lead changes in the first set, with NDNU building a four-point 22-18 lead before the Sharks made a tremendous comeback. Following an Argo service error, HPU collected five of the next six points, keyed by back-to-back kills by Escobar and Collie. An Argo attack error gave the Sharks the first set 25-23.
The second set saw six ties and four lead swaps, but after a tie at 15-15, HPU rallied with a kill from Collie to start a 3-0 run. After allowing an Argo point, HPU got another Collie kill to start a 6-0 run. The Sharks put it away on an Escobar kill for the 25-18 win.
The Sharks never left any doubt in the final set, starting with an 8-1 run and cruising to an 18-8 lead. The Argos wouldn't die and after HPU held a 22-14 lead, NDNU went on an 8-1 run of their own to close the gap to just two at 24-22 on a Shark ball handling error. But the Argos suffered an attack error that ended the set and match 25-22.
