SALT LAKE CITY -- A pair of second half goals spelled doom for Hawai'i Pacific University in its men's season opener as Westminster (Utah) won 2-0 on Friday afternoon at Dumke Field.
The Sharks dropped to 0-1 on the season while the Griffins moved to 1-0 on the year.
Westminster, from NCAA Division II's Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, broke the scoreless tie in the 61st minute on a goal by Marc Castillo.
The Griffons scored again five minutes later in the 66th minute with a goal from Max Bingman.
HPU faces Fort Lewis at Dumke Field on Sunday morning, starting at 7 a.m. HST (11 a.m. MDT).
