Sharks Recognized with D2ADA Academic Awards

CLEVELAND – The Hawai'i Pacific University athletic department had more than 60 student-athletes recognized Tuesday when the Division II Athletic Directors Association released its 2021-22 Academic Achievement Awards.
 
HPU had 63 student-athletes selected for the 2021-22 D2ADA Academic Achievement Award that recognizes outstanding performance in the classroom by Division II student-athletes. A record 16,639 were honored this year, including 950 in the PacWest Conference.
 
To qualify for the award, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, have completed two years (four semesters) of college academic work and be an active member of a collegiate team during the academic year.
 
"I am extremely proud of our student-athletes for their work in the classroom this past year," said HPU Executive Director of Athletics Dr. Debbie Snell. "There were many challenges to overcome and the COVID years have been difficult for everyone. But our Sharks have demonstrated their determination and ability to succeed.  Way to go Sharks!!"
 
This is the 15th year of the award's program by the D2ADA. Since its inception in 2007-08, there has been a total of 127,854 student-athlete nominees recognized for their academic achievements.
 
The HPU student-athletes recognized by the D2ADA for the 2021-22 year are:
