SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The Hawai'i Pacific University women's volleyball team began their trip to California against Academy of Art on Wednesday night. After a grueling five-set duel, the Sharks fell to Urban Knights in a 2-3 loss in their first meeting of the season with scores 25-18, 23-25, 16-25, 25-20, and 7-15.
Ella Dotson had double-digit kills for the second time this season as she led the Sharks with 11 kills. While
Marley Sandoval was all over the court with eight kills and adding two solo blocks for HPU.
Ella Schoene and
Lindsey Tapp also had a combined of 15 kills between the two.
Libero
Kylie Komo had her best game of the season collecting a new-career high 22 digs alongside three service aces.
The Sharks will head down to Fresno Thursday, Oct. 5 as they take on Fresno Pacific at 6 p.m. (PST).
