Sharks XC at Hilo Invitational

The Hawaii Pacific University men's and women's cross country teams showcased their speed and endurance at the University of Hawaii at Hilo Invitational on October 5th, 2024, at Naniloa Golf Course. Both teams demonstrated strong performances, with the men's team capturing the top spot and the women's team finishing third overall.

Men's 8k Recap

The men's team put on a stellar performance, claiming the team title with 21 points. Leading the charge was Tyler Stoker, finishing 2nd overall with a time of 29:57.60. He was closely followed by Aaron Garcia in 3rd (30:41.54) and Jonah Sheridan in 4th (30:44.32). Joshua Peller's solid 5th-place finish (32:40.90) and Casey Collins in 7th (37:46.08) rounded out the scoring, securing the Sharks' first-place team finish.

Women's 6k Recap

The Sharks' women's team put up a strong fight, securing a third-place finish with 44 points. Carly Dyer led the way, placing 6th with a time of 26:40.96. Isabel Acosta Figueredo came in 7th (27:08.02), and Aubrey Sibble followed closely in 8th place (28:25.67). Maya Pompel (28:38.15) and Jadelyn Rodriguez (30:29.82) completed the top five for HPU.
