(LA MIRADA, CA) - The Hawaii Pacific University Sharks (17-9, 12-6 PacWest) visited the Biola University Eagles (16-10, 11-7 PacWest) on their senior night. The Sharks, playing their 4
th game in just 8 days, were unable to match the hot shooting of the Eagles, falling 79-58.
The Sharks scored just 25 second half points and shot only 37% from the field, while the Eagles shot 48% from the field and 55% from the three-point line. HPU was paced by 13 points from
Charlie Weber, 12 points from Diggy Winbush, and 10 points from
Josh Niusulu. Matt Van Komen added 7 points, 11 rebounds, and 1 block. He was named the PacWest Defender of the Week for his efforts over the last 3 games.
The Sharks head back home for their senior night on Thursday where they take on the rival Chaminade Silverswords in what is sure to be an exciting matchup. They then head to Hilo to take on the Vulcans and wrap up the 2023-24 regular season. The PacWest conference tournament begins on March 7
th in San Diego.
