Nampa, ID – Hawaii Pacific University's men's soccer team endured a challenging afternoon, falling 4-0 to West Texas A&M on Saturday at NNU Soccer Field. Despite a scoreless first half, West Texas A&M broke the game open in the second, netting four goals to secure the victory.
HPU held strong defensively in the opening 45 minutes, keeping the match level at 0-0. However, West Texas A&M quickly found their rhythm after halftime, with D'Jonte Davis opening the scoring in the 52nd minute, assisted by Dominic Murphy and Theo Bennetts.
Just four minutes later, Davis returned the favor, assisting Matteo Landais to extend West Texas A&M's lead to 2-0. The Buffaloes kept the pressure on and scored again in the 71st minute through Quintin Benn-John, who was set up by Dominic Murphy. The final goal came in the 82nd minute when Rotem Weiss found the back of the net off an assist from Zakaria Daaou.
HPU struggled to generate offensive chances, finishing the match with seven shots, none of which were on target. West Texas A&M, on the other hand, took 17 shots, with 7 on goal.
