Waipahu, HI – Hawaii Pacific University men's soccer team dropped its season opener 4-0 against Cal State Dominguez Hills on Saturday evening at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium. Despite a spirited effort, the Sharks couldn't overcome the early offensive surge by the Toros, who netted all four of their goals in the first half.
Cal State Dominguez Hills opened the scoring in the 19th minute when Logan Kaufman found the back of the net off an assist from Gabriel Gonzalez. The Toros extended their lead in the 26th minute with a goal from Sergio Valenzuela, followed by a 39th-minute strike from Chris Briseno, assisted by Mikey McKibbin.
