WAIPI'O, Hawai'i - Hawai'i Pacific University battled through a physical, fast-paced matchup Thursday afternoon at the Waipio Peninsula Soccer Complex, showing resilience and creativity in a 3-0 setback to Vanguard.
Despite the final score, the Sharks (5-2-2, 2-2-0 PacWest) put together one of their most active offensive performances of the season, generating eight shots with seven of them on goal to maintain steady pressure throughout the second half.

Dennis Dinyer, held firm through an intense first half, limiting Vanguard's chances and keeping the match scoreless for more than 50 minutes.
The Sharks matched the Lions nearly foul-for-foul, with 13 fouls to the Lions' 14, and earned five corner kicks, demonstrating their ability to push forward and create opportunities in the attacking third.
