12/2/2025 10:29:00 PM

Box Score HONOLULU - Hawaii Pacific fought back time and again but came up just short, dropping a 71–68 decision to Chaminade Tuesday night at the Shark Tank in front of a full house and television audience.

The Sharks (3–2, 0–1 PacWest) got balanced production across their lineup. Senior Guard Quinton McCullough paced the offense with a double-double 17 points, 14 rebounds, and two assists. Avi Halpert added 15 points, with four assists, six rebounds, while Joshua West finished with 14 point with four rebounds and two assists. Hawaii Pacific's depth showed up on the scoresheet and the glass, as the Sharks outscored Chaminade off the bench, finishing with 28 bench points and 13 boards from bench players.

HPU controlled the paint for much of the night, recording 44 points in the paint and converting 12 second-chance points. The Sharks also pushed the pace, tallying 16 fast-break points and converting turnovers into opportunities throughout the evening.

HPU trailed 37–35 at halftime but battled back in the second half, briefly taking the lead late after a sequence of stops and strong interior play. The home crowd was on its feet in the closing minutes as the Sharks forced multiple possessions, but Chaminade converted critical free throws in the final seconds to preserve the road win.

The Sharks will see action again later this week at Hawai'i-Hilo on Thursday. That game will tip off at 7 p.m. and will be available to stream on the PacWest Network.
