HILO, HI - Hawai'i Pacific shot the lights out on the road Thursday night, powering past Hawai'i Hilo 88–75 inside Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium to collect its fourth win of the season and first in PacWest play. The Sharks set the tone immediately with a 45-point first half, knocking down eight threes before the break and finishing the night above 50 percent from the field and from deep.
Quentin Meza paced the offense with 19 points on 7-for-10 shooting, steady and efficient as HPU built its early lead. Joshua West followed with 16 points, hitting four from beyond the arc with confidence, while Josh Niusulu added 12 and a perfect 4-for-4 at the free-throw line. Casey Steadmon gave the Sharks a lift off the bench with 10 points in just nine minutes, and Avi Halpert, Nemanja Sarenac, and Zane Gaul all knocked down threes to help fuel the rhythm.
Ball movement and depth were clear strengths throughout the night as the Sharks totaled 19 assists and 30 points from the bench. Maj Dusanic anchored the glass with 11 rebounds and five assists, helping HPU maintain control late as Hilo tried to rally behind a 46-point second half. The Vulcans shot well, led by 20 points from DeAndre Nobles and 19 from Julio Montes II, but HPU's perimeter presence and balance across the rotation proved too much to match.
In a matchup built on pace and shot-making, Hawai'i Pacific simply had more firepower — and played with the composure of a team ready to climb. The Sharks leave Hilo with a statement win, momentum in hand, and growing confidence inside a group capable of spreading the floor and scoring from every angle.
