Sharks go 2-2 in tournament, led by aggressive baserunning and top of the lineup hitting

HONOLULU, HI - The HPU softball team took 2 out of 4 games in their past tournament at Sand Island. They were able to steal 10 bases as a team and played small ball to push runs across. They won an 11-10 contest with Cal State Humboldt and then dropped a game to them 6-3. They then beat Lewis University 4-2 before falling to Hillsdale 6-5.

Freshman Taryn Hirano collected 6 hits in the tournament while Alexis Oshiro also continued to swing the bat well, having 3 multiple hit performances. Makayla Pagampao also swung the bat well, driving in 5 runs over the course of the tournament. In the circle Layla Molina and Taylor Thompson both collected wins.

The Sharks will look to continue to have success the next few series before they open up with conference play against Chaminade on February 19th.
