Honolulu, HI - The Sharks struggled to get the bats going as they dropped 3 games to Concordia this past weekend. After a 16-0 blowout in the first game, the Sharks were able to rely on their pitching and defense to keep them in the last 2 games, they just couldn't manage to get enough momentum offensively to pull through.
Game 1
The Sharks fell behind early as Concordia was able to score 7 runs in the 1st inning and 5 more in the 2nd to make it a 12-0 ball game.
Taryn Hirano worked 2 walks but that was all the Sharks could manage on offense as they were no hit.
Game 2
Taylor Thompson shined in the circle game 2, going the distance throwing 116 pitches. The Sharks played flawless defense but again failed to get going on offense as they only managed 2 hits and dropped the 2nd game 4-0.
Game 3
Layla Molina was able to bounce back from game 1 and continue to impress in the circle as she threw a complete game going 107 pitches allowing just 4 hits and 2 runs. The Sharks were able to push a run across in the 5th inning on an RBI single by catcher
Danielle Cote driving in
Tiari Hernandez, but it wasn't enough as the Sharks lost 1-2.
The Sharks will look to get back in the win column in California where they take on Cal State Monterey Bay, Menlo, Academy of Art, and San Francisco State.
