Game Recap: Softball |

Sharks Take Game 3 From Vanguard

Honolulu, HI - The Sharks were able to pull out a good team win in the last game of their most recent series against Vanguard. Their pitching continued to impress as they've done all year, and look to build off this win moving towards the home stretch of their season.

Game 1

Vanguard was able to strike early, scoring 2 runs in the top of the 1st inning. The Sharks were unable to get much going on offense and couldn't push a run across as they lost 6-0. Jade Retuta had a good day at the plate, going 2-2 including a double.

Game 2

The Sharks offense came alive a little bit, as they scored 3 runs in the bottom of the first inning. Vanguard nibbled at the lead all game, but were finally able to take the lead in the top of the 7th and close the game out 5-3.

Game 3

Layla Molina and Taryn Hirano led the Sharks on offense in the 3rd game, combining for 5 hits on the day. Molina drove in Hirano twice and that was all the Sharks needed on offense as Taylor Thompson pitched a gem, going 7 innings allowing just 1 run as the Sharks won 2-1.

The Sharks will head back to California to take on Jessup on April 15th-16th.
