San Rafael, CA - HPU softball finished up their final road trip of the year, as they took on Jessup and Domincan. They took a game from each series and showed some life offensively as they were able to find some momentum.
Jessup
The First game of the series was a low scoring affair with
Taylor Thompson pitching yet another gem, going 6 innings and giving up just 2 runs. The Sharks managed only 3 hits as Jessup prevailed 2-0.
The Sharks pushed 3 runs across in game 2, with
Taryn Hirano leading the way on offense, going 2-4 with 2 runs scored. Jessup was able to capitalize on the Sharks mistakes late in the game, en route to a 7-3 victory.
The Sharks offense exploded in game 3, scoring 10 runs while collecting 18 hits as a team.
Neva Poulin went 4-4, leading the way for the Sharks as they clinched a 10-7 victory.
Dominican
The Sharks dominated in game 1 with
Taylor Thompson pitching a shutout, while
Danielle Cote led the way on offense, going 3-3 with a home run in the second inning.
The Sharks lost the next 2 games, while having some good innings on offense, they struggled to contain Domincan's offense, losing by scores of 8-3, and 13-6.
The Sharks are back on island and will finish out their season with a series against Hilo on April 25-26.
