HPU Volleyball Sweeps Warriors, Builds Momentum for PacWest Play

HONOLULU, HI – Hawai'i Pacific volleyball gave the Shark Tank crowd plenty to cheer about Friday night, sweeping Jessup 3–0 (25–23, 25–22, 25–20) to close out their nonconference slate on a high note.

The Sharks (4-7) put together one of their most efficient offensive outings of the season, hitting .263 as a team while keeping the Warriors (3-4) to just .143. After grinding out a tight opening set, HPU found its rhythm and leaned on a balanced attack to control the final two frames.

Peyton McBride paced the offense with 12 kills on .300 hitting to go along with seven digs and two blocks, while Chayse Hoon added eight kills and four blocks. Kate Allan chipped in seven kills at a .417 clip, and Lindsey Tapp swung efficiently with five kills in just two sets.

At the net, Ella Schoene was a force defensively, recording seven blocks to frustrate the Warriors' hitters. Maile Salang directed the offense with 21 assists, while Jordyn McCutcheon handed out 14 helpers and tied for the team lead with nine digs.

The Sharks tallied 45 kills to Jessup's 36, won the block battle 10–5, and posted 46 digs in a well-rounded effort. Each set saw HPU raise its level, culminating in a decisive .344 hitting performance in the third to complete the sweep.

HPU carries momentum into PacWest Conference play, showing both balance and depth across the lineup.
