Balanced Attack Lifts Sharks Past Azusa Pacific, 82–75

AZUSA, Calif. — Hawai'i Pacific University Men's Basketball continued its strong PacWest run Monday night, earning an 82–75 road victory over Azusa Pacific at the Felix Event Center. The win moves the Sharks to 14-6 overall and 10-5 in conference play.

HPU built early momentum behind efficient first-half shooting, connecting on 55.6 percent from the field and 46.1 percent from three-point range to take a 44–35 lead into the break. The Sharks maintained composure in the second half, knocking down key free throws and responding to every Azusa Pacific surge.

Quentin Meza led the way with 21 points, adding six rebounds while shooting 7-of-15 from the field. Joshua West contributed 17 points and went 4-of-6 at the free-throw line, while Nemanja Sarenac added 14 points, including a perfect 8-of-8 performance from the stripe.

Josh Niusulu provided a strong interior presence with 10 points and seven rebounds, and the Sharks received valuable contributions off the bench. Zane Gaul was a perfect 3-of-3 from the field, including two three-pointers, for eight points, while Quinton McCullough added six points and three rebounds.

HPU shot 47.3 percent from the floor and 39.1 percent from beyond the arc, finishing 21-of-26 at the free-throw line. The Sharks held Azusa Pacific to 34.6 percent shooting overall and 31.1 percent from three, while matching the Cougars on the glass and controlling key stretches late.

With another road conference win secured, Hawai'i Pacific continues to build momentum as the PacWest schedule moves deeper into the second half of the season.
