HPU Holds Hawai‘i Scoreless Through Six, Falls Late 4-1

HONOLULU, Hawai'i – Hawai'i Pacific held Hawai'i scoreless through six innings, but a four-run seventh inning lifted the Rainbow Warriors to a 4-1 win on Tuesday night at Les Murakami Stadium.

The Sharks broke through first in the seventh inning, taking a 1-0 lead after a wild pitch allowed Jayden Gabrillo to score.

Hawai'i responded immediately in the bottom half, capitalizing on walks and timely hits to plate four runs and take control of the game.

HPU finished with three hits in the contest, with Gabrillo recording a double and scoring the Sharks' lone run. Noah Hata and Owen Wessel each added a hit.

On the mound, Hawai'i Pacific used multiple arms to keep the game scoreless early. Jacob Vanek and Cristian Garcia each provided scoreless outings in relief, while the Sharks held Hawai'i without a run through the first six innings.

Noah Rhea was charged with the loss, allowing two runs in relief.

Hawai'i Pacific moves to 12-14 on the season.
