A physical and vocal presence behind the plate, Brock Wirthgen brings Division I experience and championship-level preparation to Hawai‘i Pacific. A product of Orange Lutheran High School under coach Eric Borba, Wirthgen earned two varsity letters while contributing as a catcher, first baseman, and pitcher before beginning his collegiate career at California Baptist University, where he continued developing as a catcher under coach Gary Addcock.
Known as Brick, Wirthgen is grounded in competitive drive, strong work habits, and a team-first mindset — qualities that translate directly into HPU’s culture. Off the field, he enjoys fishing, lifting, video games, time with friends and family, and just about anything involving good food.
He credits the warmth of the coaching staff and the family-style environment as the biggest factors in choosing HPU, along with the familiarity of competing alongside former summer-ball teammates. A catcher with leadership potential and a love for the game’s daily grind, Wirthgen enters the Sharks program prepared to make an impact.
