HONOLULU — The Hawai'i Pacific men's basketball team has been selected to compete in the 2026 NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Championship, the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Committee announced Sunday.

The Sharks are part of a 64-team field that will compete across eight regional tournaments for the opportunity to advance to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight.

The championship field includes 23 automatic qualifiers and 41 at-large selections, with eight teams placed in each regional bracket. Regional tournament games will be played March 14–15 and March 17 at on-campus host sites, with one regional beginning March 13–14 and March 16.

The eight regional champions will advance to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight, scheduled for March 25 and 27 at UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania Western University, Clarion and SportsPITTSBURGH will serve as hosts.

The national championship game will be played April 5 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis in conjunction with the NCAA Men's Final Four.

Quarterfinal and semifinal games will be streamed on ESPN+, while the national championship game will be televised on CBS.

A total of 23 conferences received automatic bids, including Point Loma from the Pacific West Conference, which secured the league's automatic qualification. The remaining teams were selected at large by the committee.
