ATHERTON, Calif. – The No. 11 Hawai'i Pacific women's tennis team continued its strong run on Monday afternoon, defeating No. 44 Menlo 6-1 at Cartan Tennis Courts to extend its winning streak to seven matches.
Hawai'i Pacific improved to 8-2 overall with the victory while Menlo fell to 5-3.
The Sharks opened the match by sweeping the doubles point. The No. 12 ranked pair of Evi Roobol and Annika Harkovirta battled through a tiebreak to defeat Zofia Dziewiecka and Livia Harper 7-6 (7-2) on court one. On court two, Willow Dymkowski and Tereza Ohnoutkova secured a 6-3 win over Polya Nikolova and Gloria Jovic, while Kayleigh Castillo and Kaia Sperry completed the sweep with a 6-4 victory on court three.
In singles play, Hawai'i Pacific won five of the six matches to seal the team victory.
No. 50 Evi Roobol earned a ranked win on court one, defeating No. 70 Zofia Dziewiecka in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2. No. 37 Tereza Ohnoutkova followed with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Yousra Hidass on court two.
The Sharks also received dominant performances further down the lineup. Kayleigh Castillo rolled to a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Livia Harper at No. 3 singles, while Annika Harkovirta defeated Gloria Jovic 6-4, 6-1 on court four.
At the No. 6 position, Kader Lynn added another point for the Sharks with a 6-3, 6-4 win against Polya Nikolova. Menlo's lone point came on court five, where Ombeline Robilliart defeated Willow Dymkowski 7-5, 6-4.
Hawai'i Pacific controlled the match from start to finish, taking the doubles point and five singles matches to secure the 6-1 victory and continue its seven-match winning streak.
