WAIPAHU, Hawai'i – Hawai'i Pacific earned a doubleheader sweep over Chaminade on Monday at Hans L'Orange Park, taking game one 6-2 before powering past the Silverswords 15-3 in game two.

In the opener, the Sharks used a steady offensive approach and strong pitching to secure the win. HPU broke through in the second inning with three runs, highlighted by an RBI single from Andrew Nykoluk and a two-run single from Noah Hata.

The Sharks added to their lead in the fourth on an RBI double by Keanu Spenser and extended the advantage in the sixth with two more runs, including an RBI walk from Blake Helsper and a sacrifice fly by Brock Wirthgen.

Nick Blakeney delivered a complete-game performance on the mound, allowing just two runs, both unearned, on two hits while striking out three to earn the win.

Kan Taguchi led the offense with three hits, while Nykoluk added two hits and an RBI. Tyler Arnold also recorded two hits and scored a run.

In game two, Hawai'i Pacific jumped out early and never looked back, scoring seven runs in the first inning to take control.

Jayden Gabrillo drove in the opening run before Christian Perez added a sacrifice fly. Blake Helsper, Ethan Murakoshi, and Taydem Hashimoto each contributed RBI hits, and Kan Taguchi capped the inning with a two-run single to give HPU a 7-0 lead.

The Sharks continued to build their advantage with two runs in the second and five more in the third. Ziah Chang highlighted the third inning with a three-run double, while Murakoshi added a two-run home run.

HPU added one more run in the sixth on an RBI triple by Carter Jones to complete the scoring.

Murakoshi led the Sharks with three hits and four RBIs, while Chang added three RBIs and scored three runs. Taguchi finished with two hits and two RBIs, and Perez recorded two hits and drove in a run.

Rylen Bayne earned the win on the mound, as the Sharks used multiple pitchers to limit Chaminade throughout the game.

Hawai'i Pacific improves to 17-15 on the season with the sweep.
