Personal: Born in Hilo, Hawai‘i...has two sisters, Alyssalyn (20) and Kayleen (18), and one bother, Kyle (24)...parents are Kerwin Buyuan and Elizabeth Luis-Buyuan...nickname is "Chubs"...enjoys beach volleyball, hanging out with friends, and anything outdoors...favorite foods are fruits, ice cream, and shrimp...other favorites are athlete Misty May and music artist Beyonce.

Prior To HPU: A graduate of Waiakea High School where she lettered in volleyball for four seasons...is a four-time Big Island Interscholastic Federation All-League selection... named BIIF Player of the Year her junior season and senior seasons...earned Hawai‘i All-State honors her senior season.

HPU: 2013: Begins fourth season. 2012: Named to the PacWest Third Team...Ranked 10th in the PacWest in digs per set (3.93)...played in all 25 matches with 375 digs (led team), 45 assists, 10 aces and a kill...had a career-high 28 digs in four sets at Academy of Art (10/25/12)...had a career-high three aces at UH-Hilo (9/15/12). 2011: Buyuan played in all 25 matches; getting two starts…she tallied 137 digs and also recorded eight kills, 12 assists, and 11 aces...had 15 digs vs. UH-Hilo (10/14/11). 2010: Buyuan played in 24 matches, starting eight... She posted 73 kills, 14 assists, seven aces, 159 digs, and five blocks.
